A private school, also called non-government, private schools, or non-local schools, are usually independent in its governance and finances. Also known as non-government schools, private schools, funded by private foundations or institutions, are not run by state, national or local government. These schools receive funding from parents who wish to send their children to a private institution and also provide them with the facilities and services of an educational institution.
The term “private school” encompasses a wide variety of private educational institutions. It could also be described as those educational institutions that are privately sponsored and run. Private schools are usually affiliated with one of several major Christian denominations, such as Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Jewish, Quaker and United Church of Christ. Private schools are known to teach a similar curriculum to public schools.
Private schools may offer private education, tutoring or tuition assistance, but the majority of them do not have a public funding source. A few of these institutions do get some public funding from the federal government.
As the name suggests, a private school is not regulated by any governmental authority. In many cases, private schools do not even have to go through formal accreditation. Many private schools are affiliated with religious organizations. Some religious schools are private, while others are government funded.
Private schools are sometimes separated from other public schools in the town or city, making it difficult for parents to send their children to one. They do, however, tend to have separate classrooms and are often separated by gender.
Private schools are located throughout the country and are available at a variety of locations. Some of them may be located in a building, such as a church, whereas other private schools may be located on a private street.
A private school generally offers a smaller curriculum than public schools, including a smaller class size. Many private schools have a lower average test score. Private schools are able to set their own academic standards for their students. They do not have to meet the academic requirements of the state or the country that they are located in. Parents are often able to choose a specific curriculum and teaching method for their child, based on what works best for their child’s learning style and abilities.
Private schools do not need to comply with the same accountability rules as public schools do. Private schools are free to choose who they hire, whom they accept and how many years they continue to employ that teacher.

Many private schools are open to the public. Others are private schools that are part of an established private institution or are non-profit organizations that accept government funding. The schools are often located outside of urban areas. If a school is located within the city limits, most often parents may pay for transportation, but if it is located in a remote rural area, it will cost the parents a great deal more to enroll their child.
Private schools usually have a lower tuition than public schools, although this is not always true. Private schools tend to charge a higher percentage of what they make, since many private schools charge their own tuition.
Parents are able to choose what school is best for their children. There is a wide range of choices for private schools for parents to choose from.
